This year marked the first time Restaurant.com has been an exhibitor at the show, which boasted an attendance of more than 62,000. We joined 2,100 exhibitors to spread the word about the benefits we offer to restaurants and customers alike.
Digital innovations were a major theme at this year’s event, as industry insiders and experts agree that restaurants must adapt to meet the demands of increasingly digitally-dependent diners. Mobile solutions in particular were a hot topic, as were deal sites and how to leverage them effectively.
Restaurant.com also hosted a roundtable discussion on the state of digital dining deals, featuring panelists including Restaurant.com President and Chief Marketing Officer Christopher Krohn, Associate Harvard Business School Professor Ben Edelman, Restaurant Industry Analyst Bonnie Riggs of the NPD Group and Charles Scrase, head of coupons and deals at Google and Julia Kanouse, VP of Strategic Marketing, National Restaurant Association.
The panel covered a wide range of digital topics facing restaurants today, including the rapid shift to mobile and the huge opportunity that creates for restaurants that are quick to adapt to mobile offerings. They also discussed the shift away from the daily deals model to online coupons, which the panelists predicted will become a preferred option. Watch clips from the roundtable here.
